Isaac Jackson Brown started the business back in 1882. As a jeweller/optician at 2 St Thomas St Weymouth, we worked from the same building until 2001 when we moved 5 doors up the road to 7 St Thomas St. All that time we have been serving the optical needs of South Dorset.

I J Brown have been trusted with the eyecare of generations of Dorset’s people. A reputation for being at the forefront of technology has been guarded carefully since the beginning of the business. We have been amongst the pioneers in all aspects of optics as it has changed and developed throughout the century. Our team of staff are very professional with many years of experience; now through the internet we are delighted to be able to offer our services to a far wider audience than ever before.
